The room comes alive from all directions mostly during the musical numbers which, in one wonderful scene, features a merry-go-round effect of music working the room. Yes, film grain can work if done properly and this is the perfect film for it. Joaquin Phoenix returns as Arthur Fleck who has been held in Arkham State Hospital awaiting “the trial of the century” for the multiple murders he is accused of committing in the previous film.

On a more divisive note, the grid layout and number of paylines might be a deal-breaker. The limited number of paylines feels archaic, but then again, it kind of goes with the aged joker territory. If Pragmatic had used a 4,096 ways system, no doubt the symbol transformation feature would be a lot rarer. It would’ve been virtually impossible for the studio to drop symbol values any further to compensate for more ways since they’re already at rock bottom. Joker Wild would have ended up being a completely different experience triggering features far less often – one which probably wouldn’t sit well with its target audience. The wild appears on any reel and is worth up to 5x the bet for a line of six.

Warner Bros has released the new trailer for Joker ahead of its world premiere Saturday at the Venice Film Festival. The off-kilter DC Comics adaptation stars Joaquin Phoenix as joker king Batman’s most infamous adversary and hits U.S. theaters October 4. In addition to Gaga and Phoenix in leading roles, the ensemble cast includes Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener and Zazie Beetz. The sequel, which was greenlit in June 2022 and hits theaters on October 4, was granted a budget of $200 million, tripling its 2019 predecessor’s budget of $60 million. The trailer gives glimpses at the film’s many musical numbers, which seemingly take place in Arthur’s imagination as the story’s events play out.

DC comics contains some seriously iconic characters, beloved by generations of fans on the page and screen. As such, the DC live-action universe has a ton of hype around it, as moviegoers delight in seeing their favorites in theaters. Warner Bros.’ massive franchise is on the upswing right now, with the massive success of Aquaman and anticipation for Shazam! But there’s also some decidedly darker projects coming down the pipeline, chief of which being Todd Phillips’ Joker movie. Pragmatic Play has done enough to ensure players within Joker King’s scope will be entertained by what it offers. The game serves up all the fast-paced disco-infused action a joker fan could hope for.
